AT&T Announced on Dec 15, 2011 that a 1st quarter surplus will occur, with most having a Mar 24, 2012 displacement.
In our area we had just hired an Electronic Technician around 90 to 100 days ago from out of state (Article 12), something doesn't seem right with this process when 1 ET is on the list for the same Exchange.
UPDATE: Added SIPP taker list for 1st Quarter 2012.
UPDATE #2: Surplus reduced in the following areas: The 1Q 2012 surplus that was declared by SE C&E has been revised. The chart below and attached spreadsheet reflect these changes. Title Exchange State Original # Declared Revised # Declared Result of Change EA Birmingham AL 2 1 Reduction of 1 OPT Jasper AL 3 1 Reduction of 2
UPDATE #3: Added Seniority Tie Breaker List.

From the District:
Ninety percent (90%) of the requested information for Premise Tech Bargaining has been received. After review, the information has been forwarded to our Research Team in Washington, DC to formulate a new bargaining proposal. We hope to be able to call the Bargaining Team back in the near future and present our demands to AT&T. |

At our last meeting this month, Occupy Huntsville participants stopped by the Local Union Hall to give us some information on what they are doing in our area to make people more aware of the 1% issue that is being seen all over the country.
While we've seen media coverage of some strange interviews and random acts that are discouraging, the movement itself makes perfect sense and does have a great affect on the Middle and Lower class of the US citizens. These people didn't know each other, they weren't the starters of the movement in this area, they were simply participants in the Occupy Huntsville movement that all had the same idea to come sit with us during our meeting and tell us how we can help.
There was good discussion on the topic and we as union members know that the core reasoning for the Occupy Movement is a valid concern for all US citizens. If you would like to read more about Occupy Huntsville and participate in the movement (It's not a 24 hour project as of now), you can visit http://www.occupyhuntsville.org
